NOTES: North America's largest native edible fruit. Flavor resembles mango and banana and texture is custard-like. Drooping maroon flowers give a gothic vibe and are pollinated by carrion flies. Foot-long oblanceolate leaves provide good shade. Larval host for Zebra Swallowtails. Plant two or more Pawpaws with different genetics for best fruit set.
